THE
LIGHTHOUSE
The
lighthouse, located in Scidmore Park at the point where Rocky and

in the City of Three Rivers. The third river in Three Rivers,
the Portage River, flows into the St. Joseph River a short distance
upstream. |

to Three Rivers from its position on the north bank of the St. Joseph
River near the City's central business district. The structure
was built in 1876 by Arthur Silliman who came with his parents,
brothers and sisters from Pennsylvania in 1847 to settle St. Joseph
County. Arthur began his blacksmith trade in nearby Centreville,
the county seat, in 1852. |
