Three Rivers is situated in the unique location where the St. Joseph, Rocky and Portage Rivers converge.  The Indians were the first to recognize its importance for trade and growth, and appreciated the scenic flowing waters and varied landscapes.

THE THREE RIVERS HIGH SCHOOL
This new, state-of-the-art facility, is now open and in full use. Funded by a nearly $30-million bond issue overwhelming approved by Three Rivers School District voters in 1996, the new high school offers modern facilities, the latest in technology, and more.

TOMORROW'S CLASSROOM
The new Three Rivers High School provides a topflight setting for educational activities.  The facility includes spacious, carefully designed, well equipped classrooms such as the one shown here.

THE COMMUNITY WELLNESS CENTER
The Community Wellness Center, opened recently by the Three Rivers Area Hospital, provides a wide variety of health care facilities including an aerobics workout area.  Health TRAC, The Recreation and Athletic Center, which is the "anchor occupant" of the 34,000 square foot building, features an indoor court, track, and pool.

THE LIGHTHOUSE
The lighthouse, located in Scidmore Park at the point where Rocky and St. Joseph rivers converge, is one of the most familiar landmarks in the City of Three Rivers.  The third river in Three Rivers, the Portage River, flows into the St. Joseph River a short distance upstream.

THE SILLIMAN HOME
The Historic Silliman Home and Blacksmith Shop adds grace and beauty to Three Rivers from its position on the north bank of the St. Joseph River near the City's central business district.  The structure was built in 1876 by Arthur Silliman who came with his parents, brothers and sisters from Pennsylvania in 1847 to settle St. Joseph County.  Arthur began his blacksmith trade in nearby Centreville, the county seat, in 1852.

THE ROCKY RIVER
The Rocky River adds to the beauty of Scidmore park as it flows into the largest of the three rivers in the community, the St. Joseph.
